Parent Checklist for RCS Registration for the 2009-2010 School Year
Registration form
- Please complete the entire form. The school that you are registering for should be the school you are seeking for your child(ren) to attend in 2009-2010. If this is an out-of-boundary school, you MUST attach an exception to attendance form (see below).
- Return both copies of the registration form with your complete package.
- Include $50.00 per student for registration fee.
- Be sure to indicate tuition payment method.
- A $10.00 late fee for current families (per student) will be assessed if your registration form is not returned by 4:00 pm, February 12, 2010.
- If there are special payment arrangements needed for your family, please provide us with a written explanation and return with your registration form.
Exception to Attendance Form
- If you seek an out-of-boundary school for your child(ren), you MUST complete an Exception to Attendance form. This form only needs to be filled out for incoming kindergarten or new students to the Rochester Catholic Schools. This form is available at each school office and the RCS website, www.rochestercatholicschools.org.
- Please complete the entire form and return with registration material by February 12, 2010.
Parish affiliation form - Only one form needed per family
- Please complete form and return to your Rochester Catholic parish office by February 12, 2010.
- If you do not belong to a Rochester Catholic parish, disregard this form.
Authorization for Automatic Withdrawal for Tuition - Only one form needed per family
- If you choose to make monthly tuition payments, the Authorization for Automatic Withdrawal form must be completed and returned with your school registration form.
- If you wish to have your quarterly or full tuition payment automatically withdrawn from your bank account, please complete the Authorization for Automatic Withdrawal form and return with your school registration form.
- Do not complete the Authorization for Automatic Withdrawal form if you are planning on making your quarterly or full tuition payment with a check or money order.
- To ensure that the RCS business office has your correct banking information on file, an authorization for automatic withdrawal form must be filled out each year.
Kindergarten Parents
Please return a copy of your child's immunization record when you return this registration packet to your child's school. Immunization forms are available on the RCS website, www.rochestercatholicschools.org.

Attendance Admission - Guidelines
Premises
- All children have the opportunity to attend Rochester Catholic Schools regardless of socio-economic status.
- Once enrolled, the Rochester Catholic Schools System is committed to that child and his/her family remaining in the system.
- Children living within a defined Rochester Catholic School-busing boundary are given admission priority to that school over children residing outside of the defined school-busing boundary.
- Attendance Admission – Guidelines are to provide more opportunities for new families to enter the system.
- Attendance Admission – Guidelines assume and are subject to, pastoral approval.
Preliminary
System Admissions Guidelines - Children will be admitted to the Rochester Catholic Schools in the following order:
- All children currently enrolled in grade kindergarten or higher.
- Siblings of children currently enrolled in a Rochester Catholic School and from a family registered at any of the Rochester Catholic parishes.
- Children of employees of the Rochester Catholic Schools system.
- Children of a family registered at any of the Rochester Catholic parishes.
- Siblings of children currently enrolled in a Rochester Catholic School and from a family not registered at any of the Rochester Catholic parishes.
- Children of a family registered at a Catholic parish other than a Rochester Catholic parish.
- Children of a family not registered at a Catholic parish.
School Admissions Guidelines
- Children from a family registered at any of the Rochester Catholic parishes who reside within that school’s busing boundary.
- Siblings of children currently enrolled in a Rochester Catholic School and from a family registered at any of the Rochester Catholic parishes, who reside within that school’s busing boundary.
- Children of employees of Rochester Catholic Schools system.
- Siblings of children currently enrolled in a Rochester Catholic School and from a family registered at any of the Rochester Catholic parishes, who do not reside within that school’s busing boundary.
- All children currently enrolled in grade kindergarten or higher, at the school they currently attend.
- Children from a family registered at any of the Rochester Catholic parishes who do not reside within that school’s busing boundary.
- Siblings of children from a family registered at a Catholic parish other than a Rochester Catholic parish.

K-8 Uniform / Dress Code
Donald's 2010-2011 Price Information
Rochester Catholic Schools believe common expectations in terms of appearance assist the learning environment in many ways. Please adhere to the following dress code.
Grade K - 4 Uniform: Jumpers / Pants / Skorts
Current Donald’s plaid jumper or dress code pants.
Grade 5 - 6 & Grade 7 - 8 Uniform: Skirts / Pants / Skorts
Current Donald’s plaid skirt or dress code pants.
Pants: Boys and Girls
Grade K – 8: Solid navy blue or black “cotton twill” or corduroy (hip pockets only/NO cargo pants) No rivets. Stitching on pants must match the color of the pant (i.e. navy blue stitching on navy blue pants/black stitching on black pants). No leggings or knit pants allowed.
Shorts: Boys and Girls
Grade K – 8: Solid navy blue or black “cotton twill” or corduroy (hip pockets only/NO cargo pants) No rivets. Stitching on pants must match the color of the shorts (i.e. navy blue stitching on navy blue shorts/black stitching on black shorts). No knit or athletic shorts allowed.
During the first and last months of the school year, dress code shorts may replace jumpers, skirts or pants. Girls are encouraged to wear shorts under their jumpers/skirts (these need not be dress code shorts).
Shirts: Boys anda Girls
Grade K - 8: Solid white, yellow and red short or long sleeve polo shirt / turtleneck (No mock turtleneck shirts). All shirts must be tucked in and must have a collar. Shirts must be free of appliques, logos, zippers, snaps and hoods.
Sweatshirts:
Beginning with the 2006-07 school year, all school sweatshirts (solid colors) will be ordered with Rochester Catholic Schools printed on them, rather than individual school names. Solid navy blue or red sweatshirts with school name can still be worn. Students must wear dress code shirt under sweatshirt.
Sweaters:
Cardigan; solid navy blue or red. Cardigan must be free of appliqués, logos, zippers, snaps and hoods.
Socks:
Solid navy blue, black, white, yellow or red socks/tights.
Shoes:
Snug fitting, non-slippery shoes which do not leave black marks.
Belts:
Belts are optional, but if worn should be solid black or brown. No suspenders.
Jewelry / Hair / Make-up:
Any jewelry/hair/make-up that draws undue attention or that is distracting in nature will not be allowed. Small earrings may be worn. Boys may not wear earrings.
** Students that are not in compliance with the uniform/dress code policy will receive a notice from the school to alert them of changes that need to be made. The School Principal will use his/her own discretion in making additional warm weather dress code changes and in addressing any other dress code issues.
Out of Dress Code Days
Out of dress code days may be scheduled at the discretion of the school administrators/teachers. These will not be specifically “dress up” or “dress down” days.
Team members must comply with dress code on all days (there is no exception for team members on game/match days).
Scouts may wear their uniforms on scout meeting days.
