What is $CRIP?
$CRIP is a gift certificate that can be used like cash at stores that participate in the $CRIP program. Certificates are available from most national chains as well as local grocery and gasoline stores. Why should I use $CRIP?
Using $CRIP is an easy way to reduce your facilities fee/tuition bill (or provide extra income to your Rochester Catholic Church) and earn money for the RCS. It COSTS you nothing. Proceeds from $CRIP benefit everyone in our school system. We can all do our part by participating in this program.
How does it work?
The RCS $CRIP Program buys gift certificates at a discount from merchants in the program. When you buy a certificate from the $CRIP Program, you pay the full face value. You use the certificate like cash, just like any other gift certificate. The difference between the discounted cost to the $CRIP Program and the face value you pay is the profit, from which comes your personal credit and the RCS benefit.
How much credit do I receive?
You receive 3% credit on your $CRIP purchases. For example, if you buy $100 dollars worth of $CRIP, you will receive $3 credit. You may choose the following designation for your credit:
- reduce your tuition and/or facilities fee
- direct your credit to a Catholic parish of your choice
- direct your credit for tuition assistance for a needy family
- direct your credit to the general RCS fund

How do I use $CRIP?
$CRIP is like cash, and can be used at regular checkout lanes. Since it is like cash, if it is lost the $CRIP program cannot replace it. You can receive change back when using paper $CRIP, but each store sets the change policy it uses. Since many stores now use debit cards as their certificates, you use it like a credit card each time you shop. When the total amount of the card has been used, the card is discarded.
How can I purchase $CRIP?
$CRIP is sold at the $CRIP office at Lourdes High School:
Monday through Thursday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Friday: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
These hours are in force during the school year. A slightly different schedule is used during the summer months. $CRIP is also sold at many Rochester Catholic churches. See the schedule below. $CRIP can also be ordered on-line at our web site at http://www.rcatholicscrip.org/order/

Friday: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
CLOSED when there is no school: (i.e. snowday, MEA, holiday breaks, etc.)
Summer HOURS:
Mon.-Thurs.: 9:00am – 1:00pm
CLOSED Friday
The $CRIP office will be closed June 27 - July 3.
$CRIP is sold after mass at the following Rochester Catholic churches. The schedules are:
Holy Spirit - Saturday evening after 4:30 mass & Sunday mornings in the narthex after the 8:15 and 10:00 masses.
Pax Christi - Sundays, from 8:00 to Noon, at base of narthex stairs on the 1st 3 Sundays of the month after 7:30, 9:00 & 10:45 masses.
Resurrection - in the narthex after all masses.
St. Francis - in the north entrance after all masses on the 1st and 3rd weekends of the month.
St. Pius - in the north entrance after the 4:00 PM Saturday mass; and the 8:30 & 10:00 masses on Sunday morning.
